IKA is the winner of this year's iF Design Award. The new IKA PETTE fix and vario pipettes were awarded the world-renowned design prize for their product design. They not only look good, but also prove their worth when it comes to tasks involving frequent pipetting within a laboratory.

The 78-member panel of experts from International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover praised the IKA PETTE’s innovative shape. By focusing the design on ergonomics and handling, safe and effortless work are the natural result. IKA's PETTE product range comprises a total of 18 different models. The PETTE managed to come out on top of a field with 7,298 competing products submitted from 56 countries and thus obtain the coveted seal of approval.

IKA PETTE was presented for the first time at the Achema 2018 exhibition and has been impressing its users ever since. In a single unit, the pipette combines everything the laboratory staff needs for reliable dosing in frequent use. Every hand is different, which is why PETTE has three interchangeable ergonomic grips. The grips ensure that the extremely light PETTE is always comfortable to hold, even during frequent use. The particular characteristics of the design include the large mechanical volume display. It is easy to read, even whilst pipetting.

IKA is very pleased with the recognition, along with all developers and designers involved. The iF Design Award has been presented for 67 years and it is one of the most significant design prizes in the world.
