Rapid, precise weighing
May 02 2023
KERN & SOHN GmbH is launching a new analytical balance which combines high precision and reliability with rapid results.
The KERN ABP-A is based on a weighing cell from the new Single-Cell Generation made from aluminium alloy. Thanks to short stabilisation times and high temperature resistance, this cell made from a single piece of metal indicates the weighing result significantly quicker than other weighing systems. Together with the intuitively structured menu on the analytical balance and a navigation cross, this enables efficient working.
Instant stable weight
To accelerate the weighing process the balance also has three automatic sliding doors which can be opened using sensors or, alternatively, by pushing a button. The automatic function prevents contamination through manual opening. The height-adjustable internal draft shield minimises environmental influences within the weighing area and ensures that the weight is extremely stable. In this way, the display shows reliable results without delay.
Automatic adjustment, accurate readout
The internal automatic adjustment ensures, amongst other things, precision and reliability: The balance will be automatically re-adjusted where there are temperature changes over 1 °C and in a time-controlled manner every four hours. In this way a high level of accuracy is consistently ensured and the user is not tied to one location. Depending on the model, the KERN ABP-A can achieve a readout from 0.1 up to 0.01 milligrams. In order to also be able to weigh electrostatically charged samples reliably, KERN & SOHN has integrated an ioniser into the rear panel of the balance. This neutralises the sample at the push of a button.
For laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry
The KERN ABP-A is ideal for use in the most varied laboratory applications, including those in the pharmaceutical industry, research laboratories as well as quality control laboratories. The tare/print key and navigation cross make it easier to carry out recipe weighing, for example. When doing this, the components of the recipe are numbered automatically and then output with the number and weight.
Communication with external devices such as laptops, PCs and LIMS systems is through an RS 232 and a USB data interface for the transfer of weighing data. In addition, the balance has a USB Host for connecting a USB keyboard, a scanner or USB stick.
