Celebrating Forty Years
Oct 19 2010
Obducat CamScan celebrated its 40th anniversary this year at Microscience 2010. During its 40 year history CamScan has been an innovator of specialised SEM techniques and products. One world first was the development of Gun Shot Residue automated analysis in collaboration with the London Metropolitan Police. Another was the X500 crystal probe, a unique instrument with an inclined column for optimised EDX, CL and EBSD at high sample temperatures.
CamScan exhibited the Apollo 300 FEGSEM with Low Vacuum mode with Oxford Instruments X-MAX EDS and the CS3100 instrument fitted with a Quorum Technologies Cryo transfer system running live demonstrations, a testament to the stability and ease of operation of both the SEM and Cryo-transfer system. Both received outstanding interest. A short video interview with MD Dr Ian Holton at Micro can be seen online.
