Rising helium prices in this turbulent economic time mean GC users face inevitable financial challenges. Using hydrogen as a carrier gas is widely known to deliver significant benefits to the GC user including increased speed of analysis and separation efficiency, but resistance to this alternative derives from fundamental concerns with the safety of cylinder storage. The widespread adoption of hydrogen as a carrier gas has also been restricted by the lack of robust hydrogen methodologies.

Now, an increasing number of GC instrument manufacturers are offering methodologies for using hydrogen as carrier gas and this has helped established hydrogen as a true, cost-effective alternative to helium.

Parker domnick hunter specialise in the design, manufacture and global aftermarket support of analytical hydrogen gas generators, which enable laboratory users to easily produce their own cost-effective, continuous supply of premium quality hydrogen from a compact, on-site source. Moreover, with in-built safety features such as sophisticated software control, alarm capabilities and multiple fail-safe safety alarms, all the benefits of hydrogen can be enjoyed whilst safety fears are evaded.

The company will exhibit its range of solutions at the forthcoming ARABLAB exhibition 10 – 13th Jan, Dubai on stand 335 and will also host a seminar which will reveal ‘how hydrogen generators can improve safety and increase productivity in the laboratory’, and will take place on Saturday 10th January at 11:40am.

Parker domnick hunter also offers LCMS nitrogen gas generators which are designed to specifically match the gas requirements of individual LCMS instruments to facilitate optimum performance.

A range of zero, clean dry and CO2 free air systems are available and are approved for use with all major analytical instrumentation manufacturers, so compatibility, quality and reliability is assured.
