For long term storage it is critical to store at temperatures lower than -130C, the recrystalisation point of ice. The SANYO MDF-C2156VAN Freezer plugs straight into a 13Amp power supply and provides a storage temperature of -150C. No Liquid Nitrogen is needed.

No Liquid Nitrogen is needed to achieve the operating temperature, therefore, a cost saving could be made depending on the local cost of Liquid Nitrogen. In addition to this there are no demanding safety procedures which are required if using Liquid Nitrogen and no liquid phase cross-contamination between samples which can occur if using Liquid Nitrogen.

The Freezer provides 231L of storage capacity at stable temperatures. Alarm systems are also present to add to numerous sample protection features.
