Spot Indole Reagent, PL391, manufactured by Pro-Lab Diagnostics, is a simple and rapid method for determining the ability of bacteria to produce indole from the deamination of tryptophan. The detection of indole indicates tryptophan degradation and can be accomplished by the addition of certain aldehydes to form coloured end products. Spot Indole reagent from Pro-Lab Diagnostics contains the active ingredient pdimethylaminocinnam aldehyde (PACA) which reacts with indole to produce a blue compound.

Presentation & Storage - Spot Indole, PL391, is supplied as a 15ml ready to use reagent, in an amber dropper bottle. The reagent can be stored at room temperature in its original container.
