Teknomek has extended its modular shelving range to offer customers more options to make optimal use of the storage space available to them. The hygienic units are built from 304 grade stainless steel and feature wire shelving, which does not interrupt air circulation and prevents from dust settling.

Sue Springett, Commercial Manager at Teknomek, said: “Dust presents a significant risk in hygiene-controlled environments, contaminants including salmonella can hitch a lift on dust motes. As such, it would be a major oversight not to consider the hygienic design of storage units.”

The flexible shelving is available in a range of variants to suit different sizes and shapes of rooms. Options are 1000 x 400mm to 1500 x 600mm as standard, and up to 3000mm on demand. Units can be combined as required and corner units can be constructed using hooks without needing uprights. Each unit is supplied with four slated wire shelves as standard but up to an additional eight can be installed to suit.

Springett continued: “We understand that space is often at a premium, the modular nature of our shelving means that you can mix and match units to fit your particular needs, while reducing risks of cross-contamination in storage areas.”

The shelving is available in fixed and wheeled options, mobile versions are fitted with either zintec or stainless steel castors. Static units can support payloads of up to 600kg, while mobile variants hold up to 240kg.
