Analytik Jena’s qTOWER 2.2 Quantitative Real-Time PCR Thermal Cycler enables quantitative real-time PCR. The open platform accommodates standard 96-well SBS format microplates, 0.2ml tubes and 8 well strips and is optimised for reaction volumes of 10-60μl. To achieve maximum thermal conductivity and superior temperature uniformity, the system is designed with a gold-coated silver block. qTOWER 2.2’s LED and fibre optic-based lighting system, with an industry-leading 10-year warranty, excites fluorescent dyes in a wide spectral range and enables generation of high signal intensities. The system offers a selection of 12 excitation colour and FRET modules for placement in up to 6 positions. Read-out of a 96-well microplate takes only 6 seconds, independent of the number of dyes to be measured. This model features a gradient function. The software allows users to define the cycle programming and includes evaluation algorithms for absolute and relative quantification, delta-delta Ct, PCR efficiency, melting curve, endpoint analysis and allelic discrimination.
