Evosphere - Monodisperse fully porous particles (MFPP) for HPLC/UHPLC
Evosphere Monodisperse fully porous particles (MFPP) for HPLC/UHPLC have brought new performance to chromatography separations. These particles offer upto a 60% increase in efficiency compared to traditional porous particles. Additionally, they feature new selectivity stationary phases, enabling unique resolution of compounds.
In the past, polydisperse porous silica particles resulted in a low Eddy diffusion term within the Van Deemter equation, leading to a loss in efficiency compared to core-shell particles. However, Evosphere monodisperse particles reduce the Eddy diffusion term, allowing for better-packed, higher-efficiency HPLC columns. This improvement is evident through increased peak height and sharper peak widths for analytes.
A further gain of using these monodisperse particles is their increased loading capacity compared to core-shell particles. This makes them suitable for both analytical and preparative scales, addressing a major drawback of core-shell particles.
Bonded to these silica particles is a choice of unique new stationary phases, utilising a combination of both Hydrophobic and polar bondings allows multiple mechanisms of interaction to provide the best probability of resolution of complex mixtures. Evosphere C18/AR and Evosphere C18/PFP have hydrophobic C18 ligands combined with aromatic functional groups in order to increase polarity, steric selectivity and pi-pi terms. This is most powerful in reducing complexity of mobile phases for even complex samples, in turn leading to more robust, reproducible methods being developed.
Evosphere represents a giant leap forward in HPLC silica particle technology, offering higher sensitivity, greater resolution, and high loading capacity from capillary to preparative scale.
