ASAP Analytical introduces their Vapor Phase IRD designed with the sensitivity and stability required to make the capillary GC/FTIR practical in the chromatography lab. The instrument requires a minimum of bench space with optimized, dedicated optics for highest sensitivity. The GC/IRD integrated software provides efficient instrument control, data acquisition with library searching. The result is a universal non-destructive IRD for routine to complex sample analysis.

The IRD interfaced to a GC provides chromatographic separation with molecular identification. The GC/IRD will analyze routine samples, typically run on a GC/MS, to more demanding samples that are difficult to interpret by MS. The IRD in more challenging samples provides molecular level identification with Vapor Phase library searching. The sample preparation required to operate the GC/IRD is identical to that of GC/MS. The GC/IRD can be interfaced to a MS to produce a GC/IRD/MS that provides chromatographic, vibrational and mass spectroscopic data from one sample injection. The IRD system is ideal as a primary or confirmatory technique for verifying samples analyzed on a GC/MS system.
