For more than a century MACHEREY-NAGEL stands for innovation, high quality and reliability in analytical chemistry and life science. MN offers a broad range of products for chromatography, filtration, rapid tests, water analysis and bioanalysis as one of today’s leading manufacturers in these fields.

For around 50 years MN presents high quality products on analytica – the international trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis, biotechnology and conference – and on the world forum and leading show for the process industries ACHEMA. Also in this year MN will welcome chromatography users and analytical experts on analytica in Munich (hall A2, booth 318) as well as on ACHEMA in Frankfurt/Main (hall 4.1, booth E7) and shows their latest developments of chromatography media.

CHROMABOND® SPE columns and Flash cartridges

The new hydrophilic-lipophilic balanced polymeric SPE adsorbent CHROMABOND® HLB is specially designed for the enrichment of hydrophilic analytes (e.g., pesticides and pharmaceuticals) from polar matrices like water, blood serum or food. Linked hydrophilic groups of the HLB copolymer interact with polar functional groups of the analytes, while the lipophilic backbone interacts with nonpolar hydrocarbon residues to provide enhanced retention. For sophisticated preparative separations MN now offers its new CHROMABOND® Flash RS Sphere SiOH series. These Flash cartridges can be used with common Flash systems and are packed with ultra-pure spherical silica gel (particle size 15 and 25 µm, respectively) with high specific surface area. These characteristics provide superior resolution and loading capacity over conventional Flash cartridges. Further information at: www.mn-net.com/flash

NUCLEODUR® and NUCLEOSHELL® HPLC columns

The recently introduced biphenyl phase NUCLEODUR® π2, 5 µm is now extended with the particle size of 3 µm. The separation mode of the biphenylpropyl modified silica is based on π-π and hydrophobic interactions and provides alternative selectivity compared to classical C18 phases. Thus, NUCLEODUR® π2 columns are especially recommended for sophisticated separations of aromatic and unsaturated compounds (e.g., steroids, sulfonamides, tetracyclines, anthocyanins, isothiazolinones). The core-shell product range of MN has been extended by the brand-new NUCLEOSHELL® Bluebird RP 18 columns. Due to a polar endcapping and the efficient core-shell technology Bluebird RP 18 can be used for fast analyses under highly aqueous conditions, especially for very polar analytes (e.g., organic acids, water-soluble vitamins, pesticides, antibiotics). TLC and HPTLC plates

Nowadays developments of new TLC plates are very rare. However, this year MACHEREY-NAGEL launched the brand-new TLC glass plates SIL HD as well as Nano-SIL HD plates for HPTLC. They are characterised by “High-Definition” properties at the detection with UV light. Furthermore, TLC users benefit from excellent staining properties for post-chromatographic detection using spray reagents. Further information at: www.mn-net.com/TLC

A wide range of approved and of new application notes for the newly developed and for established chromatography media are freely accessible online at www.mn-net.com/apps.
