Parker domnick hunter has won a prestigious Golden Gas 2014 Award for its UHP Zero Nitrogen Gas Generator at the Pittcon conference and expo in Chicago.

The Parker domnick hunter Ultra High Purity (UHP) Zero Nitrogen Gas Generator is a relatively new product to market and won for its ability to solve an important challenge to the gas industry, its technological innovativeness, superior specifications and cost effectiveness.

With the demands on laboratories to produce accurate analysis from instruments that are increasingly more sensitive in a shorter period of time, the requirement for ultra-high purity gas is rising. The UHP Zero Nitrogen Generator offers an increased ultra-high purity zero nitrogen of 99.9995% (5ppm O2) and 0.1ppm hydrocarbon.

Using pressure swing adsorption (PSA) to produce nitrogen, air is passed, at pressure, through columns containing a proprietary carbon molecular sieve (CMS) which adsorbs O2, H2O, CO2, etc.

A stand-out feature of the model is the economy mode which monitors the back pressure and stops the generator cycling when there is no demand. This extends the life of the internal compressor, reduces energy consumption and reduces the service requirements and costs.

Gerard Catchpole, Life Science Market Development Manager of Parker Hannifin said: “Parker is delighted to receive this prestigious award for the development of the Ultra High Purity Zero Nitrogen Generator. Developing products for applications in a global market requires a significantly high level of contribution from customers, distributors and Parker employees across the world.  Attending events such as Pittcon enables our marketing teams and engineers to ensure we develop products that meet our customer exact expectations, and utilise the latest technologies and componentry available.”

The Ultra High Purity (UHP) Zero Nitrogen Gas Generator was amongst a number of products that Parker domnick hunter exhibited successfully at the Pittcon conference and expo. The product won the Golden Gas Award 2014 in the ‘Gas Generation’ category.
