Seamless Integration of Microplate Evaporators and Liquid Handling Robots

Porvair Sciences' Ultravap® Mistral microplate evaporators are globally renowned for their ability to remove solvent evaporation bottlenecks in laboratories worldwide, catering to 12- to 384-well microplates and glass vials of up to 15 cm height.

The new generation of Ultravap® Mistral evaporators have been updated with a flat front profile and platform shuttle for seamless interfacing with liquid-handling robots, offering increased automation efficiency. Proprietary advances in gas injection technology ensure reproducible sample throughput by delivering heated gas directly and consistently to each well and tube. The Ultravap® Mistral's open-access design, combined with powerful operating software, allows full RS232 control over every parameter and easy integration with liquid handling robots for full automation of microplate dry-down.

Porvair's latest addition to their evaporator line, the Ultravap® Mistral XT-150, offers significant throughput advantages to laboratories handling frequent sample preparation tasks. With its advanced evaporator head technology and innovative manifold design, the XT-150 achieves faster sample throughput than centrifugal evaporation for single plates and tube racks. The evaporator's heated nitrogen injection system, which delivers temperatures up to 80ºC directly to each well of the microplate simultaneously, further enhances its efficiency.

Porvair Sciences has developed the Ultravap® Mistral core software that allows control of multiple operating units at once. This advanced software allows multiple Ultravap® Mistral evaporators to be connected in series using the latest CAN interface technology. This means that a method selected on a primary unit will be automatically distributed over the CAN Bus to all downstream units, allowing the program to run simultaneously.
