Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc has introduced its Thermo Scientific UHPLC filter cartridges, providing superior protection of columns without impacting upon performance. Engineered specifically for use in  fast, high efficiency separations at high mobile phase velocities and ultra-high pressure, these replaceable filter cartridges contain a 0.2 μm frit. This ensures Hypersil GOLD 1.9 μm columns are protected against damage from any small particles generated by the sample, solvent or UHPLC system, extending the column lifetime in the most demanding applications. Thermo Scientific UHPLC filter cartridges are available with 1mm or 2.1mm internal diameter.

The simple design of the Thermo Scientific UHPLC filter cartridge holder allows it to connect directly to the inlet of the UHPLC column easily and quickly. The low dead volume design maintains chromatographic performance without degrading peak shape, ensuring improved peak symmetry, and reduces efficiency loss through dispersion. The UHPLC filter also adds a minimal increase in backpressure, to enable it to be fitted to any length column.
