SGS, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, has expanded its biopharmaceutical testing capabilities at its Lincolnshire, Illinois, centre of excellence. This facility, now further enhanced with new instrumentation and expertise, offers comprehensive analytical services to support pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and medical device developers and manufacturers.

The Lincolnshire centre, a 60,000 ft2 facility, provides microbiology, chemistry, and molecular biology services, catering to both small and large molecule testing needs across all stages of product development. With the recent expansion, SGS has introduced services such as early cell bank safety assessment, product characterisation, method development and validation, raw material testing, and final product release support.

The addition of advanced capabilities strengthens SGS’s position in the biopharmaceutical market, particularly in the characterisation of biologic therapeutics. The Lincolnshire facility now uniquely supports analytical testing from discovery through commercial stages, enabling clients to streamline their development processes with a single, flexible service provider.
