Alpha Laboratories offers three ranges of cryogenic storage vials designed for safe, ultra-low temperature storage, of biological material, human or animal cells.

The Classic range offers improved safety compared with standard screw cap microcentrifuge tubes. A positive leak-proof seal is guaranteed at all temperatures. The range is internally threaded with a silicone square section washer that compresses tightly between the cap and top of the tube wall.

The Feel the Seal range is ideal when storing important samples in large batches. A positive leak-proof seal is enhanced by a specially designed silicone o-ring around the cap. As the cap is tightened, the quality of the seal can be felt as the o-ring is compressed between the tube wall and the cap.

The Ultimate Security range is externally threaded with a unique flange/washer combination that reduces the risk of contamination. This superior combination provides the highest level of security for your most precious samples.

A special grade of polypropylene, chosen for its consistent strength, is used to make all our vials. The cap and vial are made from the same material so with temperature change, they shrink and expand in unison, ensuring an equally secure seal both at room temperature and at low cryogenic temperatures.

Alpha Laboratories’ cryogenic vials are compatible with most storage systems. They are available in either free-standing or round-bottom base designs. Round-bottomed tubes can be centrifuged at up to 17,000g. Internally, the vials have a rounded base for easy recovery of samples. Clear graduations and large white writing areas simplify sample labelling and identification. Colour-coding is possible with 11 different coloured cap inserts. A wide range of racks and workstations are also available.
