Dionex Corporation is pleased to release the industry-leading Corona® ultra™ Charged Aerosol Detector for the Dionex UltiMate® 3000 HPLC and RSLC systems. Charged Aerosol Detection® (CAD®) has broad applicability across a wide array of applications. The Corona ultra can detect any non-volatile and many semi-volatile analytes independent of chemical structure, with or without a chromophore. This makes CAD useful for analytes ranging from small molecule pharmaceutical APIs and counterions to large molecules such as polymers and proteins. It is ideal for lipids using liquid chromatography where the wide variety of structures and widely varying UV response present an analytical challenge. The power of CAD lies in its versatility and ease of implementation. With integration into the UltiMate system, these capabilities are now available in an advanced HPLC system.

The redesigned Corona ultra is fully integrated into the UltiMate 3000 systems. Both detector and system are controlled by the Dionex Chromeleon® Chromatography Data System (patent pending) software. With the analytical capability of the UltiMate 3000 RSLC systems, the ease of use of Chromeleon software, and the speed and low peak dispersion of the Corona ultra detector, this is an ideal combination for throughput, resolution and detection for all application where universal detection provides the answer to an analytical problem.
