The Milestone PYRO SA microwave sulphate ashing system from Analytix is specifically designed for sulphate ashing to deal with corrosive fumes generated during this procedure.

PYRO SA allows analysts to add sulphuric acid to samples and place crucibles directly into the microwave muffle furnace without a preliminary charring step. It is a highly efficient alternative to conventional methods and dramatically reduces sulphate ashing times, from hours to minutes.

The PYRO SA continuously removes sulphuric acid fumes, released from crucibles during the sulphate ashing process inside the muffle furnace, through a quartz tube connected to an air-cooled quartz collection vessel outside the unit, and out to an acid scrubber module.

The system provides automatic real-time monitoring and feedback-based control. The terminals run easy to use software that offers a simple, user-friendly, intuitive operation. Integral storage of the ashing procedure is included for any QC reporting requirements

Sophisticated PID algorithms will follow pre-set temperature curve and allows modification of all parameters, even in the middle of a run.
