New Flexi-block Accessory Enables Safe Heating of any Sample

Techne® Dri-Block® heaters have been providing a safe, dry precision temperature source in the laboratory for 50 years. The 2014 range introduced 6 new heater models with several new features and a modern new look.

The new Flexi-block accessory is ideal for samples stored in 0.2ml, 0.5ml, 2.0ml and 5.0ml micro tubes, as well as any diameter test-tube, vial, cuvette or micro plate. Manufactured from high density ceramic, the autoclaveable beads exhibit high mechanical strength and are an excellent thermal transfer medium. Flexi-block brings a new dimension to Dri-block® heating applications and is compatible with any 2 or 3 block Techne® Dri-block® heater.

Techne offer the widest choice of aluminium block inserts on the market. However, the new Flexi-blocks provide a simple solution to the traditional limitations of Dri-block® heaters - laboratories can now safely heat any vials, tubes and micro plates up to 200°C regardless of sample type or vessel shape and they can also heat several different types of vessel in the same block at the same time. The idea was developed from the popular Techne® N°ICE sample chiller, which is a clean and convenient alternative to the laboratory ice bucket.
