A New Technology for Particle Size Measurement in Dry Mode.
Aug 26 2008
The complex design of the mixing chamber and the nozzle ensure that the airflow disperses the powder in a fine and homogeneous particle cloud at low pressure to avoid particle destruction.
The de-agglomeration is obtained by airflow turbulence combined with particle-particle and particle-wall collisions. The resulting two phases flow is then directed to the laser path through a succession of venturi sections and a special nozzle.
Very fine and coarse particles from hard or brittle material are efficiently dispersed for precise analysis using laser diffraction.
Users can use the system to measure the particle size of any type of powder (cements, glass beads, calcium carbonate, pharmaceutical productsâ¦) even in the submicron range according to the ISO 13320 standard. Thanks to that compliance CILAS particle size analysers ensure you a traceability of your measures to International Standard (NIST).
â¢Superior accuracy that is traceable with ISO calibration (> 3 %).
â¢The best reproducibility because of the short fixed optical bench (> 1 %).
â¢Excellent correlation with wet mode because of the unique calibration method.
â¢Quick measurements (5 seconds), which minimize the workload and time involved, are available due to the easy operation and user-friendly software.
â¢Robust design, not affected by dust or vibration, provides reliable analysis even under adverse industrial conditions.
