Diatome cryo diamond knives for low temperature situations such as, sectioning of cryo-protected specimens, frozen hydrated specimens, industrial samples such as polymers and rubber.

The triangular holder, suitable for dry sectioning, as well as the trough, for sectioning using fluids, (DMSO/water) are made from special copper-nickel alloy, guaranteeing the best possible heat/cold conduction. Cold-resistant epoxy resin is used for the seal.

There are numerous advantages to cryo diamond knives as opposed to glass knives:

Thinner sections.

Ultrathin/semi thin sections with the same knife.

Easy to produce long ribbons of sections.

Less compression, greater uniformity.

You gain time. No knife manufacturing, no knife changing, no waiting for temperature equilibration.

Used with AFM, SEM etc.

Cryo 25° knife for sectioning frozen hydrated specimens.

Cryo 35° knife demonstrated its usefulness as a standard knife for the low temperature sectioning of polymers, rubber, paints, etc.

Cryo 45° knife suited for routine cryo sectioning.
