Liquid nitrogen (LN2) is typically supplied in bulk tanks, dewars, or vessels by gas companies. However, relying on deliveries comes with challenges, from supply chain delays, storage limitations, to recurring costs. A more reliable and efficient way is producing LN2 on-site using the CRYOGEN liquid Nitrogen generator by F-DGSi. With just a power connection, this generator produces 8 to 960 liters per day—automatically. Here’s how it works:
The LN2 production process starts by generating Nitrogen gas from ambient air. A built-in Nitrogen generator uses Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to separate N2 from compressed air, delivering high-purity Nitrogen gas that is stored in a tank, ready for liquefaction.
To transform Nitrogen gas into liquid, it needs to be cooled to –196°C (-321°F). CRYOGEN achieves this using the proven Gifford-McMahon cooling technology, which relies on a cold-head design to compress and expand Helium gas. A Cryo-Refrigerator, mounted on the built-in dewar, then liquefies the Nitrogen gas.
The liquefied Nitrogen drops into a built-in certified dewar for a safe storage. Dispensing options include:
