Microtrac, a pioneering company in Laser Diffraction technology, marks its 50th anniversary since its inception in 1974. The company's legacy began with the delivery of the first instrument to measure Particle Size Distributions using Laser Diffraction, a technology based on the foundational work of great physicists such as Albert Einstein.

Over the years, Microtrac has introduced groundbreaking technologies, such as the first laser diffraction measurement in dry powder which was patented in 1975, and the use of solid-state laser diodes in 1987. The company has continuously integrated the latest technological advances into its instruments, delivering unmatched information on size and shape to users.

In 2018, Microtrac released the SYNC analyser, which incorporated synchronous measurement of laser diffraction and dynamic image analysis. This innovation allows users to obtain comprehensive data on particle characteristics, further solidifying Microtrac's position as a leader in the field.
