The expert in high precision thermoregulation Huber Kältemaschinenbau headquartered in Offenburg is honoured with the ‘Grand Prix of Small and Medium Enterprises’ / 5,009 companies were nominated for the competition.

Small and medium enterprises do not only shape the economy, they are the economy. Small and medium enterprises have created millions of new sustainable jobs in industry, trade, services, and handcraft - virtually unnoticed by the public. For this reason, the ‘Great Award for Small and Medium Enterprises’ was advertised for the 21st time. No other economic competition in Germany receives such an enormous response as the ‘Great Award for Small and Medium Enterprises’ awarded by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation based in Leipzig. The award does not bear any monetary value. For the participating companies, it is all about the honour, public acknowledgment, and confirmation of their performance.

The awards gala for the competing regions of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, and Thuringia took place on 26 September in Würzburg. More than 400 entrepreneurs and numerous invited guests participated, including Offenburg-based Peter Huber Kältemaschinenbau GmbH. The manufacturer of high precision thermoregulation was honoured as one of the five ‘finalists’ from Baden-Württemberg, prevailing against strong competitors. 5,009 small and medium enterprises were nominated for the 2015 competition Germany-wide – this is a new record in the competition's 21-year history. Huber was nominated by the City of Offenburg and Volksbank Offenburg eG.

General manager Joachim Huber receives the coveted award winner statue. He is excited about the award: "We are proud of receiving this great award for our work. Many successful companies from different industries have been nominated for this award. We have convinced the jurors of our company. The award confirms our company objectives and is a great motivation to further pursue our path regarding job protection, innovation, and environmental responsibility."

According to the jury, the honoured companies convince with an economically healthy overall development, create and protect jobs and trainee positions, produce innovations, assume responsibility for the society, are involved locally and are one of the leading companies in their industry sector regarding customer orientation, service, and marketing.
