Quickfit® has introduced a new PTFE seal for use with its range of interchangeable flat flange jointed glassware.

The PTFE seals are available in 75mm and 100mm bore sizes and are made from a chemically inert contaminant resistant polymer that is already widely used in laboratories.

PTFE seals are an excellent alternative to vacuum greases as it can contaminate a reaction, consequently affecting purity and yields. This in turn raises costs as more chemicals are needed to repeat experiments.

The new Quickfit® PTFE seals provide a ’perfect’ air and liquid tight seal. This can be achieved by positioning the seals between two flat flanges and securing the flanges together with a fastening clip.
