Source BioScience plc has extended the reach of its rapid, market leading DNA sequencing and data analysis service in the UK with today’s launch of its Overnight Service in Scotland.

The Overnight Service will now be available to research groups in and around Edinburgh and Glasgow, with customers receiving their sequencing results by 09.00 the following day, including Saturdays, at no extra cost.

This sequencing and data analysis service has been operational since 2011, when it was launched in London, Cambridge and the Midlands and more recently has been extended across Europe in Berlin and Dublin. The service offers free sample collection and rapid delivery of results, combining Source BioScience’s world class sequencing capabilities with its unique SpeedREAD™ automated data delivery system.

Dr Nick Ash, CEO at Source BioScience, commented: “Our Overnight Service continues to set new standards in sequencing services and can play a major part in reducing downtime in research projects by delivering results in a timely fashion.”

He added, “The Overnight Service is already having a very positive impact on our business, with a significant increase in sequencing volumes since its launch in 2011. We are delighted to extend the service to our Scottish customers, following the acquisition in April of Inverclyde Biologicals, based in Motherwell, and look forward to broadening the reach of this service even further, enabling more customers to access the benefits of overnight sequencing.”
