The long and complex pipetting protocols needed for DNA preparation present a challenge for many laboratory automation systems. Velocity11 has designed a BioCel system configuration that addresses these challenges using an automation system built around its unique VPrep high-speed precision pipetting technology.
With its versatile shelf configuration options, the VPrep is ideally suited for complex pipetting sequences, while at the same time delivering very high throughput. The BioCel system is ideally suited to this demanding application due to its powerful dynamic scheduling software, flexible liquid handling options, high-speed central robot and the ability to simply integrate third-party instruments. The combination of these two powerful systems provides unprecedented throughput for DNA purification and sequencing applications.
Using this BioCel system and VWorks software and scheduler - researchers were to provide unattended automated preparation of 200 plates in only four hours. In addition the automated process eliminated sources of sample contamination and provided the highest possible sequencing preparation quality. The BioCel is a fully capable sample processing system for assembling genomics reactions, dispensing samples for compound preparation or processing biological samples in screening applications. Available in three different sizes and offered with various options for enclosures and environmental control, the BioCel system can be tailored to your individual needs.
