Automated Workstations for Bulk Reagent / Cell Dispensing.

Jan 30 2008

Velocity11 now offers compact automated workstations for bulk reagent / cell dispensing which are fast, flexible and user friendly.

For customers faced with the need for increasing throughput (up to 80 microplates / hour) or diminishing resources, an automated Bulk Reagent / Cell Plating Workstation can be created using your existing dispenser or a new dispenser purchased through Velocity11. An optional second dispenser integrated with the BenchCel Workstation can further increase dispensing throughput to up to 130 microplates / hour.

Typical applications that will benefit from the ability to rapidly add reagents or plate cells into lidded microplates include bulk dispensing, PCR preparation, colorimetric and kinetic assays, coat and barcode plates for ELISA assays and cell plating. A new Technical Note describing the new BenchCel Workstations for Bulk Reagent / Cell Dispensing can be downloaded from the Velocty11 website.

The latest R-Series BenchCel is a robust benchtop microplate handling system that delivers the speed and precision of much larger and more expensive automation platforms. The R-Series BenchCel features a unique high-speed plate shuttle that enables rapid and precise accessing of integrated microplate stacks and peripheral instruments. Even the smallest R-Series BenchCel can support three peripheral instruments allowing customers to create highly configurable Workstations that combine a broad range of functionality, including barcode labeling, microplate sealing, plate reading, centrifugation as well as sophisticated liquid handling using Velocity11 or third-party peripherals. Users can choose from 2, 4 or 6 stack instrument configurations, and from four different sizes of removable racks with capacities of 15 to 70 standard microplates. A novel delidding function removes and replaces microplate lids as necessary, adding to system versatility.
