Mumps virus is a common childhood disease that is highly contagious. Transmission is by aerosol and direct contact. Symptoms include swelling of the salivary and parotid glands. It is a vaccine-preventable disease, however, recent outbreaks have occurred in the US due to unvaccinated clusters.

ViroStat has released 3 new monoclonal antibodies to this virus. They are specific to the highly conserved and abundant nucleoprotein (NP). These new antibodies function in ELISA and IFA and serve as excellent research tools.
