atg UV Technology has taken delivery of another Camspec M501 spectrophotometer which will be used to assess customer site water quality. The market leading M501 is one of the most powerful spectrophotometer of its type. The wavelength scanning function allows operators to gain a faster more detailed understanding of contamination in any water sample. This greater accuracy when compared with older spectrophotometers gives operating companies an extra edge.

The Spectronic Camspec range now extends from low-cost visible instruments and a simple to use UV-Vis instrument all the way through to single beam UV-Vis scanning and double beam scanning research grade instruments. Each can be operated as standalone devices or PC controlled with software driven by any version of Windows TM. New models can now download data to USB sticks enabling the information to be analysed later on laptops and PCs. This new feature appeals strongly to those doing fieldwork in locations away from the comfort of a lab. An easy to download application programme can then help interpret and export the data and create calibration curves on screen.

Managing Director Mark Brereton told us ‘the latest spectrophotometers have advances which could make a major impact in efficiency for many labs’ he told us. ‘Many more are recognising that the small investment required can very quickly pay for itself in improved productivity’.
