Owing to the increasing cases of food contamination, consumers are demanding higher quality and an enforcement of food control. Consequently, the food safety market has been growing in China. analytica China, the Leading Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis, Biotechnology and Diagnostics in China, has made food safety one of its focal points all along. In 2016, the trade show organizes a special exhibition area for this topic in Hall N3, the “Shanghai International Food Safety Equipment and Technology Area”. This year’s analytica China takes place from October 10 to 12 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

The theme exhibition covers 10,000 square meters and is expected to attract around 20,000 professional visitors-be it from the authorities, scientific institutes or industry users as food processing enterprises. Industry leaders like Agilent, Anton Parr, Atago, B&W Tek, ewaii, Focused Photonics, FOSS, Haiguang, LabTech, Little Swan, Merck Millipore, Metrohm, PerkinElmer, Shimadzu, Skyray, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Zhiyunda already have registered. The exhibition focuses on analyzing and testing instruments (for macrobiotics, poison, pesticide residue, heavy metal, TG and additives), on portable fast testing equipment, food safety tracing system, thermo-humidity monitoring system, sterilization equipment, reagents and consumables and offers as well third-party certification services.

New special area on lab health and safety

In addition, laboratory safety-a topic of serious concern for lab staff-plays an important role at this year’s analytica China, too. Lab accidents have continued to happen, reminding us how important it is to keep updated on the latest safety-related information. analytica China 2016 will stage a special area originated from analytica in Munich, Germany, to offer ideas on lab safety and health. Among them are topics like lab fire and explosion protection, hazardous material safety or protection from health risks in laboratories. Through live demonstrations and presentations, the special area aims to provoke the risk awareness and teach proper prevention measures to the audience.

Promising perspective for exhibitors

In recent years, the life science instrument market has made promising progress. In 2014, the global life science turnover amounted to over 40 billion US Dollars, increasing by six percent annually. Inspired by such promising perspective, the exhibitors of analytica China 2016 are making active responses. Although the trade show has expanded again to 35,000 square meters, demand exceeds the supply. Half a year away from the opening, over 90 percent of the space is already occupied. By now, there are around 680 confirmed exhibitors. Among them, 200 are participating in analytica China for the first time. Important brands like Eppendorf, Analytik Jena, Bruker, ESCO, Horiba, Jasco, Miele, METTLER TOLEDO, 3M, Hitachi, EBIO, TEDIA, Sartorius, Hanon, SYSCAN, PyNN and IKA display their latest products and solutions in food, environment, pharmacy and chemical engineering.
