Ohaus Corporation, a leading worldwide manufacturer of balances and scales, announces the expansion of the Explorer series of balances to now include additional analytical models with automatic draftshield doors.

These three new models make Explorer the first in its class to offer motorised draftshield doors that can be programmed to open and close automatically through the touchless sensors on either side of the base and display. The sensors can be programmed to open the opposite side door, in order to allow the operator to place the sample in the weighing chamber with the opposite, free hand. The hands-free operation of the draftshield doors allows the operator to focus on sample handling and can increase efficiency of the weighing process by eliminating the need to manually open and close doors.

The motorised draftshield doors offer expansive side entry of 160mm x 240mm as well as spacious top entry through the frameless, flip-top door that also slides open.  The wide, multiple entry options ensure ample room to place large weighing vessels and limits the risk of disrupting the sample.

The new automatic draftshield door models contain all of the same intuitive and modern features of the existing models, including AutoCal™ internal calibration system, SmarText™ 2.0 graphical software featuring 14 application modes, virtual QWERTY and numeric keypads, a modular design in which the base can be separated from the display, among many more ingenious features.
