Kromasil silica-based materials have a solid history in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and natural product fields, because of the benefits these stationary phases bring for the separation and purification of compounds.

Organisations have recognised the value of using the Kromasil brand across entire project cycles from R&D with slurry-packed columns to production with the corresponding bulk product for cost-effective solutions.

Kromasil products are available as bare silica and with various surface modifications for normal phase, reversed phase, chiral and supercritical fluid chromatography applications.

Kromasil Classic:

Kromasil Classic is a platform based on first-in-class silica material to improve efficiency and decrease costs in laboratory analysis and purification steps.

This stationary phase material has been designed for the whole range from analytical through development to production scale in normal and reversed phase. Depending on the users’ needs and requirements, chromatographers select Kromasil Classic in 60Å, 100Å or 300Å pore size.

Kromasil Eternity:

This platform is based on Nouryon’s state-of-the-art grafting technology. It is designed for reversed-phase separations in potentially harsh conditions. For regular silica-based stationary phases, exposure to extreme pH (especially basic) will have a negative impact on the chemical stability and therefore column lifetime. However, the silica/organosilane surface of the Kromasil Eternity platform offers a chemical stability that will secure a long-lasting stationary phase, even under tough pH conditions and higher temperatures. The team has also developed a second generation material known as Kromasil EternityXT.

Kromasil Chiral:

Kromasil Chiral is a platform based on Nouryon’s in-house developed silica matrix coated with a functionalised amylose or cellulose selector. Designed for analytical and industrial chiral chromatography, these products offer several alternatives to researchers and engineers that need to separate and purify chiral substances.

Kromasil SFC:

This platform is specific for SFC applications, for users focused on green technologies. The product options here allow users to use SFC for samples with a wide variety of compound characteristics.

Kromasil is produced by Nouryon in Bohus, Sweden, in a production plant that is a ISO 9001 facility, where columns and bulk are shipped worldwide. The team behind these products continues to be the world-class innovator delivering new platforms in both slurry-packed columns as well as bulk material, pushing the technological boundaries to meet chromatographers’ requirements.
