Degasser for challenging volatile solvents

07 May, 2026

Biotech Fluidics introduces the DEGASi® Integration HFIP, an online degassing system engineered for reliable performance with even the most demanding solvents used in modern chromatography workflows.

Designed to handle highly volatile and chemically aggressive liquids, the system is fully compatible with solvents such as hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) and silanes, while also supporting the full range of common mobile phases used in GPC/SEC and HPLC applications.

HFIP is widely used in the analysis of polar polymers and peptides that are otherwise difficult to dissolve in standard organic solvents. However, its high polarity, strong acidity and volatility make it particularly challenging for conventional degassing technologies.

To address this, the DEGASi® Integration HFIP is available with analytical and semi-preparative configurations, supporting flow rates of up to 3 and 6 mL/min respectively. The system also features an integrated vacuum monitoring output (5 mV/mmHg), enabling real-time tracking of vacuum performance through instrument control software.

Built for long-term stability, the system is designed for low maintenance and straightforward solvent exchange, supported by a low internal volume and optimised channel design. A closed-loop vacuum control system ensures consistent degassing performance and reduced baseline noise in high-precision analytical setups.
