Specac Ltd has introduced a value range of holographic wire grid polarisers for IR applications. These are provided on Barium Fluoride (BaF2), Calcium Fluoride (CaF2), KRS-5, and Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) substrates, and are manufactured at 2500 lines/mm to provide excellent polarisation performance at an economical price. They are sold from stock, and are available in standard sizes of 25 mm or 50 mm diameter.

Common uses include: the polarisation of radiation for unpolarised sources, attenuation of radiation from polarized sources, or acting as polarising beamsplitters. Further applications include infrared spectroscopy of materials and NIR/Mid-IR thermal imaging, amongst others. These polarisers are offered in addition to Specac’s range of standard and high extinction ratio IR polarisers.
