Kyoto expansion aims to drive global growth

17 Feb, 2026

HORIBA, Ltd has announced plans to construct a new global headquarters on the site of its current Kyoto head office, with completion expected in January 2028. The project is part of HORIBA’s strategy to strengthen global operations, realign domestic sites, and support its long-term goal of reaching annual revenue of 1 trillion yen.

The 10-story building, with a basement and 37,443 m² of floor space, will incorporate a ‘Global Operation Floor’ to house multinational teams driving business strategy across the group. Open office designs, collaborative spaces, and a ‘Mini FUN HOUSE’ will foster innovation and cross-department communication. Visitor-focused areas, including a museum and showcase, will present HORIBA’s history, technologies, and global products.

The project also consolidates planning, administration, and sales functions across HORIBA’s Kyoto–Shiga sites, while other facilities will focus on development, manufacturing, and service operations. Total investment is approximately 37 billion yen.

Dan Horiba, board member and project leader, said the headquarters will serve as the group’s strategic hub, connecting operations, driving innovation, and showcasing HORIBA’s capabilities to employees and visitors alike.
