Regional expansion to accelerate Asian biopharma growth

05 Dec, 2025

Thermo Fisher Scientific is deepening its investment in Asia’s biopharmaceutical ecosystem with the launch of a new Bioprocess Design Centre in Hyderabad, India, and expansions of its existing centres in Incheon, Korea, and Singapore. The tri-hub network is designed to bring advanced technologies, local expertise, and hands-on support closer to biopharma innovators across the region.

Asia is rapidly emerging as a global hub for biologics, vaccines, and cell and gene therapies. Thermo Fisher’s regional expansion aims to accelerate process development, improve efficiency, and support sustainable biomanufacturing. By providing laboratories, collaborative spaces, and cutting-edge single-use and hybrid systems, the new and upgraded facilities enable customers to co-create, test, and scale bioprocesses more effectively.

The Hyderabad centre, developed in partnership with the Government of Telangana, offers state-of-the-art spaces for process design, simulation, and optimisation, supporting India’s growing biomanufacturing ecosystem. Incheon’s expanded centre enhances laboratory capabilities, advanced materials access, and collaborative innovation opportunities. Singapore’s upgraded facility provides bench-to-pilot scale processing, expert-led training, and close collaboration with technical teams to help early-stage processes scale smoothly and sustainably.

“Asia is playing an increasingly important role in global biopharma innovation,” said Daniella Cramp, Senior Vice President and President of BioProduction at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “Expanding our network in Korea, Singapore, and India brings world-class infrastructure and expertise closer to our customers, helping them deliver high-quality biologics faster, more cost-effectively, and sustainably.”

Through this tri-hub network, Thermo Fisher is supporting biopharma customers at every stage — from research and development to commercialisation. The centres provide access to advanced manufacturing technologies, training, and technical support, enabling greater agility, scalability, and faster time to market for life-changing therapies.

“Strategic regional investments like these redefine what is possible in biologics production,” said Tony Acciarito, President of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “We are proud to contribute to the growth of Asia’s biopharma ecosystem and help customers bring transformative therapies to patients.”
