New spectrophotometer suite expands UV-Vis capabilities

07 Jul, 2026

Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched the Thermo Scientific™ GENESYS™ G5 series of Visible and UV-Visible spectrophotometers, designed to help laboratories standardise analysis workflows, simplify routine testing and expand analytical capabilities.

The GENESYS™ G5 suite, which includes the G5 Vis, G5 UV-Vis and G5 UV-Vis Pro models, supports a range of applications across water analysis, food and beverage testing, life sciences, chemical analysis and academic research.

An expanded software ecosystem provides application-specific packages for areas including water analysis, food and beverage testing, life sciences and colour measurement. Guided workflows and preconfigured methods help reduce setup time and improve consistency for routine analyses.

The platform also supports a broad range of accessories, including cell changers, Peltier temperature control, sippers and fibre optic probes, allowing laboratories to configure systems for different applications and levels of automation.

Connectivity options including USB, network, cloud and LIMS integration support efficient data management, while Thermo Scientific™ SciVault™ 2 software provides features including user access controls, audit trails and electronic signatures to help support 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements.

The GENESYS™ G5 series is designed to provide laboratories with a flexible UV-Vis platform for routine analysis, quality control and research applications.
