Scottish Microscopy Society celebrates annual symposium

10 Oct, 2024

The Scottish Microscopy Society’s 50th Annual Symposium to be held on Tuesday 26th November, at Hampden Park Conference Centre, Glasgow, is open for registration until 15th November.

The one-day conference offers opportunities for post-docs and students (and others!) to present in a friendly environment. There will be talks, posters, workshops and a trade exhibition. An image competition, which ran in advance of the symposium wil be featured and the Society will also be presenting its annual award to the Scottish Microscopist of the year.

The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be Professor Sally Lowell from the University of Edinburgh. Professor Lowell is a developmental biologist who has developed novel tools to study how cells influence their neighbours.

This conference is open to anyone who uses or builds microscopes, across all disciplines, techniques and research themes.

There will be plenty of chance to interact with trade with technobites from leading microscopy vendors and facility managers from information on the microscopes and techniques available in Scotland.
