Fastrak® – the Eco-friendly Tip Racking System for Quality tips at Great Value
Aug 28 2014
Fastrak provides high-quality tips in an ingenious pipette tip refill system, designed to save time and reduce the risk of tip contamination from unnecessary handling. The tips are made from non-cytotoxic, medical grade, 100% virgin polypropylene. Every batch is tested for extractables and certified DNA, DNase and RNase free, ensuring no interference with critical laboratory processes such as PCR or DNA sample handling.
For high-precision pipetting requirements, Fastrak is available with Ultrafine tips which feature a uniquely thin and flexible top that fits the pipette cone like a glove. The un-bevelled tip point provides added accuracy as even the smallest sample volume is expelled with ease. Fastrak tips are designed to fit a wide range of pipettes and each batch of tips is rigorously tested, using ISO/EN 8655-6:2002 specified procedures, to ensure accuracy and precision are maintained with each pipette model.
Pipette tips are quickly and simply refilled using the unique Fastrak transfer-top, eliminating the need to touch the tip or wafer and preventing contamination. Fastrak can also be re-closed to further eliminate exposure to contaminants. The anti-tip wobble racks facilitate easy tip mounting and are especially useful with multichannel pipettes.
Every Fastrak® pack you use goes toward tree planting with the Alpha Laboratree Scheme
When Alpha Laboratories customers invest in Fastrak, they are assured that they are using the most eco-friendly tip refill system available. However, they can do even more to help preserve the environment for future generations by joining the Laboratree campaign. It’s free to join and available exclusively to Fastrak users.
Since its inception in 2008, the campaign has attracted over 150 supporters who have already helped to plant over 1250 trees across the UK. This has made a valuable contribution to a major reforestation project in association with the Carbon Managers and the Challenger Trust.
Alpha Laboratories has also joined forces with the Woodland Trust to extend tree planting activities to multiple locations nationwide.
