Fast, Easy Application of Adhesive Microplate Sealing Films with the Unique SealMate™ System

Excel Scientific’s unique SealMate™ system provides a convenient method for sealing standard-format microplates with adhesive films. It includes a moulded polypropylene dispenser with a hinged “clamshell” design and sealing films supplied in a novel sheeted-roll configuration.

The SealMate dispenser protects the film sheets on their roll prior to dispensing. Films are delineated by non-adhesive colour bands that enable positioning on the microplates. The bands contain two perforations, to separate the sheet being dispensed from the next on the roll and secondly to permit the end-tab to be removed from the plate once the film has been applied.

The SealMate system reduces laboratory waste because the film is rolled on itself with no extra paper or plastic liner to dispose of.

SealMate is really easy to use due to several unique features. A compression-brake mechanism prevents the roll from turning as the dispensed sheet is separated from the roll. The smooth lower surface can be used to ensure the film is securely sealed around all the wells of the plate. Notches on the edge of the dispenser provide access to the non-adhesive band to facilitate pulling the next film out. A prop on the lower surface prevents film contact with the supporting surface to avoid contamination. Alternatively, the dispenser can stand on one of the hubs at the roll ends during storage. Films are protected and always ready to use.
