Anton Paar flash point testing solutions for renewable fuels and EALs

01 Aug, 2025

Anton Paar’s PMA 500, PMA 300, and CLA 5 flash point testers offer safe, reliable, and compliant solutions for testing renewable fuels and environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs).

Designed for labs where efficiency, consistency, and safety are non-negotiable, the PMA 500 offers fully automated operation to minimise operator interaction, improve reproducibility, and increase sample throughput. With 20% faster cooling times after each measurement, more samples can be processed per shift – a critical advantage when working with high-flash-point materials such as EALs.

Both the PMA 500 and PMA 300 deliver precise, repeatable flash point results in accordance with major standards, including ASTM D93 and EN ISO 2719. The patented electric ignition lasts over 10 times longer than conventional designs, and quick cleaning helps save time when switching between complex renewable formulations.

When open-cup testing is required (e.g., for EALs), the CLA 5 offers reliable, standards-compliant flash and fire point testing according to ASTM D92 and ISO 2592. Built-in safety features like overheat protection and a fire-dampening system provide enhanced protection for both users and equipment.

The instruments are compatible with Anton Paar’s lab execution system, AP Connect, which ensures data is always organised, secure, and accessible. Results are transferred automatically to LIMS, network folders, or cloud systems, and can be viewed from any connected workstation – supporting centralised data access for fuel certification, EAL monitoring, and other quality workflows.

With intelligent safety features, durable components, and seamless digital integration, Anton Paar’s flash point testers are built to make your lab more productive, your testing more reliable, and your data fully traceable – so you can confidently meet the demands of renewable fuels and sustainable lubricants, today and tomorrow.
