Quantitech Ltd has launched the ?InfraSpec' IR Spectrometer - a low cost but accurate alternative to FTIR.
Pocket-sized and easy to use, it is a portable, filter-based spectrometer for qualitative and quantitative analysis of a wide variety of materials.
Typical applications include food analysis (e.g. fat or alcohol content), fuel analysis (e.g. bio-diesel in diesel), environmental analysis (e.g. solvents in water), energy (e.g. D2O in water), manufacturing (e.g. QC or material identification) and pharmaceutical (e.g. powder analysis).
Operated by user-friendly PC software, the InfraSpec offers spectral ranges of 2.5-4.8?m, 5.510.5?m and 9-11?m for both qualitative (spectra) and quantitative analysis (concentration) of powders, films, liquids, slurries and solids.
