LECO has launched the new 812 Series, a next-generation analyser designed for the rapid and reliable determination of carbon and moisture in a wide range of organic and inorganic materials. Combining enhanced sensitivity, faster thermal performance, and programmable multi-atmosphere operation, the system delivers deeper insight into material composition while simplifying laboratory workflows. In addition to the determination of total carbon and total moisture, the system uses a thermal differentiation approach to separate and quantify individual carbon and moisture phases based on their release temperature profiles, providing valuable insight into material behaviour and composition.
The 812 Series features an efficient horizontal furnace design with improved active cooling and optimised temperature control, reducing cycle times by up to 50% compared with previous-generation systems. The platform provides simultaneous carbon and moisture determination while eliminating the need for labour-intensive or hazardous chemical preparation. Enhanced detector performance delivers up to a tenfold improvement in carbon detection limits and a twentyfold improvement in moisture sensitivity, enabling analysis of increasingly challenging low-level applications.
