Retsch Technology’s CAMSIZER is used by a number of pharmaceutical companies for quality control and research of the size and shape analysis of pharmaceutical granules which contain a mixture of medical agents and various carrier substances like polymers, sugar, cellulose or polysaccharides. The granules are produced by fluidised bed granulation or rotor granulation. The roundness of the granules and size distribution are critical for a reliable release rate of the drug. A narrow size distribution therefore guarantees an accurately controlled and repeatable release rate of the active agent. The CAMSIZER’s size resolution not only allows the customer to measure the granules size distribution but also monitor the successive growth during granulation and active agent coating thickness.
