An affordable, flexible and compliant new product, guaranteed to enable employers to provide laboratory and industrial staff with reliably clean air, has been launched by world–leading electronic airflow control and monitor manufacturer and consultant, Temperature Electronics Ltd (TEL).

For a fraction of the price of competitor products, TEL’s local exhaust ventilation (LEV) monitor allows employers to comply with legal requirement to ensure that their LEV system always works effectively, cleaning the air to keep workers safe from dust, fumes and other airborne contaminants.

Compatible with any ducting or LEV extraction device, mains or battery powered and simply installed, TEL’s flexible LEV monitor has been developed in response to growing market demand, identified through the company’s close, ongoing relationships with fume cupboard manufacturers and users across the world.

With a product range that comprises airflow monitors (CAVs), airflow controls (VAVs) and autosash controllers as well as the new LEV monitor, TEL has unrivalled expertise in the airflow control and monitoring market, and its products are used in thousands of industrial settings and laboratories across the world.

TEL Director, Richard Eady, said:  “Our new product has been created in response to the increasing demand of our industrial and laboratory partners for an affordable and flexible LEV monitor.

“The product has only been available for a few weeks, and already we have sold a sizeable quantity to four major customers, and are enjoying considerable interest from many more.”

One of the main ways in which LEV systems fail to work effectively, is when airflow rate drops below the minimum safe level.  TEL’s LEV monitor features a pressure cell which triggers an audible and visual alarm if airflow begins to fall, alerting operators to potential problems immediately, allowing them to take prompt action to remedy the issue before employee safety is threatened.

Designed to enable customers to comply with health and safety legislation, TEL solutions also aim to deliver energy and cost savings and a reduction in carbon emissions.  The company offers a full service provision, from design consultation, solution supply and installation, to training and technical backup.
