AnalytiChem has introduced a Trace Metal Certification for its DigiTUBE™ disposable digestion tubes, complementing existing Volume Certification and strengthening quality assurance for sample preparation in ICP elemental analysis. Supported by ISO 17025-accredited laboratory procedures, the certification is designed to improve confidence in contamination control and volumetric accuracy, while helping laboratories save time and reduce costs in trace metal workflows.
Manufactured from ICP-MS grade polypropylene, DigiTUBE tubes are single-use digestion vessels designed for use with graphite block digestion systems in environmental, industrial and materials testing applications. Their flat-bottom design supports efficient and uniform heating during digestion, while the disposable format reduces cross-contamination risk and eliminates time-consuming cleaning procedures.
The new Trace Metal Certification provides verified data for more than 65 elements, confirming ultra-low background contamination from the polypropylene material. These reference values support method validation, blank assessment and audit documentation, particularly in ultra-trace analysis where detection levels can reach ppb or ppt ranges using ICP-OES and ICP-MS techniques.
DigiTUBE tubes are available in 15, 50 and 100 mL formats and feature leak-free screw caps in multiple colour options. Each tube includes calibrated graduations and is certified for volumetric accuracy to Class A standards in accordance with ASTM E288-10 and ISO 384. Every production batch is validated through AnalytiChem’s ISO 17025-accredited procedures and supplied with a Certificate of Volume analysis.
By combining digestion, dilution, transfer and storage in a single disposable vessel, DigiTUBE tubes can replace up to five traditional laboratory vessels, reducing handling steps and improving workflow efficiency. An optional RackLock system further enhances usability by enabling one-handed cap closure.
“At AnalytiChem, we remain committed to continuously improving our products to ensure they are fit for purpose,” said Lurdes Teixeira, VP Services & Segment Leader Environmental, AnalytiChem. “Securing both Trace Metal and Volume Certification for DigiTUBE S tubes gives laboratories greater confidence in contamination control, volumetric accuracy and workflow efficiency.”
The DigiTUBE range is supported by complementary consumables including DigiFILTER, Watch Glasses, Autosampler Tubes and high-purity ICP standards for calibration and trace metal analysis.
