Seminars Themed Around Safety Solutions and Optimised Applications

Under the auspices of laboratory solutions provider Lasec, German company VACUUBRAND together with Asecos GmbH, has been on a seminar tour covering 8 different cities in Namibia and South Africa.

“Safety solutions for a modern day laboratory” focused on the solutions and benefits to ease daily vacuum applications needs were presented to over 300 guests. The requirements for vacuum pumps in the laboratory are as various as the applications. The main lesson of these seminars was “never use an oil-sealed or fluid-driven pump when a diaphragm pump or pumping unit can do the job”.

This means that oil-sealed rotary vane pumps are recommended only for special applications with an ultimate vacuum below 1 mbar (absolute pressure). For processes with aggressive media or large amounts of solvents at such low pressures the best recommendation is a combination of rotary vane pump and diaphragm pump such as the chemistry-HYBRID pump from VACUUBRAND.

The positive response of the seminar tour highlighted how important modern safety solutions and optimised application can be, not just based on own expertise, but also by including a network of partners at every stage of the value chain. The seminars were hosted by Lasec, who has been VACUUBRAND´s local agent in Africa for more than 30 years.
