Centrifugation in the laboratory using an electric motor has existed for nearly a century. Substantial advances have been made, so that now many centrifuges bear a strong resemblance. What more innovation can be achieved?

BMS International introduces a new core business area: AWEL™ centrifugation – “wind” in the language of Brittany (France) where the centrifuges are designed and manufactured. The offer covers clinical, multifunction and research applications. A dozen models will comprise a range covering all major segments of the centrifuge market.

Advanced Ergonomics

A low profile is common to AWEL centrifuges – conventional brands are up to 40% taller. A series of under-centrifuge storage units can place the motorized lids of the AWEL series at convenient benchtop height. Workflow is improved at the centrifugation stage of sample handling and time saved with no struggling to load and unload the samples or rotor. The AWELock™ system in the multifunction range permits rotors to be exchanged and safely locked in position without the use of tools. The AWELight™ system displays blue lid lights at the run end to indicate that samples are ready to be removed, increasing operator efficiency and improving process results.

Responsibility in Ecology

With an energy regulation program and automatic shutdown when unused, an AWEL centrifuge consumes less energy than its counterparts. The manufacturing process incorporates recycling for sustainable development.

Safety Above All

The AWELine™ system automatically detects if the centrifuge is not horizontal – an essential safety requirement for the huge forces involved and extends the life of the machine and accessories.

A Sound Heritage of Quality

Although new, AWEL is produced by a European team with over 25 years’ experience in centrifugation – your assurance of quality and performance. Offering exceptional versatility and capacity at an attractive price, the AWEL* range responds to customer needs.
