Smart centrifuge simplifies life science workflows

16 Mar, 2026

Eppendorf has unveiled the SpinPro® 6 R, the first model in its new line of floor-standing and benchtop centrifuges designed to streamline life science workflows. Combining ergonomic design, smart features, and environmental sustainability, the SpinPro 6 R offers flexible and scalable solutions for cell culture, protein isolation, and other sample separation applications across pharma, biotech, food, and agriculture sectors.

The refrigerated SpinPro 6 R builds on Eppendorf’s trusted benchtop centrifuges with new rotor designs that can be interchanged across multiple models in the SpinPro series, reducing inventory and costs. RFID-chipped rotors provide instant recognition for added safety, while the QuickLock® Pro lids allow one-handed operation, improving efficiency during routine workflows. Compatible with a wide range of vessel types, the centrifuge supports everything from small-scale assays to larger-volume sample processing.

A 7-inch adaptive touchscreen and intuitive software simplify setup, and the electric lid drive offers ergonomic one-touch operation. The SpinPro 6 R is ACT 2.0 labelled, featuring CO₂-based cooling technology without F-gases and providing full transparency on energy consumption and sourcing, helping labs meet sustainability targets.

Designed to integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, the SpinPro 6 R combines speed, safety, and simplicity to reduce error and accelerate research. A virtual launch video demonstrates the centrifuge in action and is available on demand at Effortless Every Time | SpinPro® 6 R Live
